Avengers 4 Fan Art Imagines Pepper Getting Tony's Message

New Avengers: Endgame fan-art visualizes Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) getting Tony Stark/Iron Man's (Robert Downey Jr.) message as seen in the recently-released trailer for the film. The inaugural couple of the MCU, the two's relationship has gone through so much since the first Iron Man movie in 2008. From being Tony's trusted assistant, Pepper has become his girlfriend and eventually fiancee, but their journey as a couple was not without its fair share of ups and downs. In Captain America: Civil War, fans learned that they had broken up. It wasn't until Spider-Man: Homecoming that it was revealed that they were able to somehow patch things up.

The two appeared to be in a better place at the start of Avengers: Infinity War, where they were even casually talking about the prospect of having kids after Tony recalled a dream about having a baby despite his fiancee's insistence that they're not expecting. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed that the dream isn't exactly a vision, but chances are that it would mean something with regard to the couple's fate in Endgame. But for now, Stark is in a bind and from the looks of it, he's accepted the fact that he's going to die alone in space after his failed trip to confront Thanos in Titan.

Courtesy of digital artist known as spdrmnkyxxiiion comes heartbreaking fan-art imagining Pepper somehow getting Tony's farewell message as seen in Endgame's first trailer. The image backs up fans' theory that the physically wrecked Iron Man helmet may unknowingly be able to send Tony's recorded view paving the way for eventual rescue from space. Whether that means she'll be the one to suit up and pick him up or someone else is still to be determined. In the meantime, check out the illustration below:

The backdrop of the image is similar to Tony's laboratory in his Malibu home, which was destroyed in Iron Man 3. But since fans haven't really seen the two's new home after moving out of the Stark Tower-turned-Avengers HQ in New York, it's currently unclear where they've been staying prior to the events of Infinity War. Homecoming revealed that Tony sold the former home base for Earth's Mightiest Heroes after they've moved to a bigger facility upstate, but since Avengers 3 opened with the engaged couple casually jogging at a park in New York, it's safe to say that they're still living somewhere around the area.

Of course, the fan art isn't an indication that this is what will exactly go down in Avengers: Endgame, but it's known fact that Tony will survive his current situation and rejoin the rest of the Avengers for the upcoming bout against Thanos one way or another. What's unknown is whether he (and other Phase 1 MCU heroes) will be able to come out of the next Marvel Studios ensemble film or it will be the end of his big screen adventure. Regardless, considering that the Phase 3 capper is touted to be the culmination of everything that has transpired in the franchise in the last decade, it's only fitting that the hero that started this whole interconnected storyline plays a prominent role in what ultimately goes down in the movie.
